P.F.F.I.A. Conference
The 44th Annual Fire and Fraud Investigation Professional Development Symposium will be held Oct. 1-6, 2010 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in St. Charles, MO.
Hours from this conference will apply toward Fire Investigator Certification continuing education credit.
On Saturday, Oct. 2, a train-the-trainer session will be held for the Division of Fire Safety "Meth Labs: First Responder Awareness" program. This program will prepare conference participants to teach the Missouri Division of Fire Safety’s "Meth Labs: First Responder Awareness" at the local level. Each attendee will receive a copy of the Division of Fire Safety Meth Lab Awareness curriculum and presentation. Those completing this session will be able to register local delivers with the Division for issuance of certificates. Additionally, three hours of CEU’s for Missouri Fire Service Instructor recertification will be awarded for this session. For symposium information and registration forms, go to www.PFFIA.com
Group Purchasing OrganizationThe Western Fire Chiefs Association and FireRescue GPO are pleased to welcome both Gregory Keller and Jennifer Winans to the team. The two will be working for the FireRescue GPO (FRGPO) program as the WFCA Representative and Administrative Assistant, respectively. Keller and Winans are responsible for coordinating and conducting FRGPO Advisory Council calls and will be the conduit between the FireRescue GPO program and the fire service, nationwide.
Keller has an Associates Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelors Degree in Fire Command Administration. Keller’s career in the fire service spans more than 30 years. His time in the uniformed fire service includes Fire Chief (ret.) and Past-President of the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association.
Winans holds a Masters Degree in Education, and has previous work experience in the fire service as the Administrative Staff for the Montana State Fire Chiefs Association.
“Keller and Winans bring familiarity, knowledge, credibility and strong relationships gained from years of experience in the fire service to these positions,” said Jessica Heintz, Office Manager of the Western Fire Chiefs Association. “They are a great asset to our Association.”
